Sharing in both production and profit
I've thought about this one before, but never bothered to write it down. Some may label it an idealist's vision, but I haven't convinced myself yet.
If a designer, writer and marketing manager all work on campaigns together, why is it that the marketing manager will reap the benefits and bonuses of that project? Each player on the project is shaping the end result, and they should be recognized for their efforts.
Maximize your production and give each player a chance to earn rewards for work that goes above and beyond.
Teams become strong when everyone is respected as a player.
If a bonus is already in place but is not rewarded based on the success of the team's work, then it would make sense to reward the bonus that is larger, or a combination of both.
Giving options in compensation opens up opportunities for your business.
I'm not saying businesses should over promise bonuses or give away their profits. They should inspire healthy competition - and rewarding a team over individuals is a great way to do it.
